Striated Pardalote net
Print Council of Australia
Etching, aquatint, linocut and stencil / 62 x 56 cm
Annette Cook
This print references the striated markings of the small native pardalote bird and extends those into a fabric net that in turn captures the bird. The creature is immersed in these marks but is also a victim of the cultural artefact of the fabric.
