Susannah Collins

Visual Artist, Naarm
Susannah Collins is a visual artist that lives and works in Naarm Melbourne, Australia, on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. She is an exhibiting and commissioned artist, that has shown work in solo, collaborative and group shows. Susannah has also coordinated and led art workshops and exhibitions at the community level. She is currently undertaking a Master of Fine Art at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia.

Focusing on oil painting and drawing to create figurative expressions of the world around her, Susannah Collins’ practice is fluid, shifting between incidental observational reflections of everyday life and a more formal portrayal of staged interior and still-life scenes. Influenced by traditions within the Still Life genre, such as Memento Mori, the work responds to the dialogue between disarray and harmony within her own domestic settings and familiar environments to engage ephemerality, liminality and beauty within a contemporary context.
