Ritual 0.2 is an iteration of my 2025 Honours project, Ritual Body. This installation explores my engagement with Hindu ritual, geometry, colour, and materiality.
The visual language of the installation draws upon symbolic and material associations within ritual practice and reflects both contemplative and embodied ways of working.
Within the Hindu Sri Vidya tradition, symbols and geometric diagrams function as maps for meditation, concentration, and invocation. I employ geometry as a way of contemplating my relationship with time, creation, and consciousness. The square form and turmeric reference the earth element, ultramarine suggests space, while red and orange evoke fire. I explore the symbolic, physical, and experiential dimensions of geometry, colour, and materiality.
Ritual materials such as turmeric possess both sensory and symbolic significance and are used in practices of offering and purification. Engaging with these materials in their raw state allows me to work in an embodied and poetic way.
Ultimately, this work reflects my belief that spiritual practice, when woven into daily life, remains a vital source of artistic inquiry.

I’m an abstract artist interested in metaphysical and spiritual themes.
Working in oils and watercolours I utilise geometry, symbology, colour and rhythm to generate work which aim to balance and elevate the mind.
My approach is syncretic and experimental. Amongst my influences are, philosophy of the Bauhaus movement, Colour Theory, Indian Modernism, Indian ontology and Hindu Tantric Art.
Over the years I have formed distinctive symbolic vocabulary and motifs representing ideas related to the process of creation, destruction, unification, and balance.
In pure plastic terms, I’m mostly interested in colour and form, but I also enjoy experimentation with materiality of paint and substrate to develop the right techniques to convey the conceptual intent.
