Untitled (Slaughterhouse)

Clara Martin

Cotton, polyester, bamboo fibre, quilting & appliqué / 53 x 53 cm

$500.00

Statement: A bed is both a cradle for the body and an artefact of life. It is as much a
place for comfort as it is a place for suffering. The quilt embodies that concept, of
being comforting and hurtful, of being uncomfortable and soft.

Hanging instructions: the quilt has a sleeve sewn to the back top edge through which
a dowel / pole can be placed. It is recommended that the quilt be suspended from
this, however, the artist allows curatorial discretion as to how best to hang the work.
